Fellowship Of Christian Students

       Before October 2007, there were no English speaking Student Christian association in Ternopil. So on Saturday, 6^th of October 2007, a group of students came together to discuss on the need for a fellowship  to help them  enhance their spiritual lives and more also a lot of other people who didn’t understand the Ukrainian and Russian language. After that meeting, they decided on a meeting on Sunday, 7^th October 2007 , to start their first Sunday meeting in one of the guest rooms in the medical hostel were 18 students were present on that day. 

      This caught on with many Christian Foreign students in the various universities and due to the guest room being too small to accommodate a large number, Sunday 14^th October 2007, ushered the inaugural service at Hotel Aligator.

On Sunday 9^th December, 2007, the first executive body of the fellowship was ordained  to enable leaders to serve in different capacities so that the work of God will be more effective.

Today,the fellowship has been growing and touching lives .

 

 Objectives

The objectives of the Fellowship of Christian Students is to unite Christian students regardless of denomination or church affiliation in their common profession of faith and witness to other members of the University. 

The common faith of the Fellowship is defined by the following basic truths of Christianity as revealed in Holy Scripture:

(a)    There is one God in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

(b)   God is sovereign in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement.

(c)    The Bible, as originally given, is the inspired and infallible Word of God. It is     the supreme authority in all matters of belief and behaviour.

(d)    Since the fall, the whole of humankind is sinful and guilty, so that everyone is subject to God's wrath and condemnation.

(e)    The Lord Jesus Christ, God's incarnate Son, is fully God; he was born of a virgin; his humanity is real and sinless; he died on the cross, was raised bodily from death and is now reigning over heaven and earth.

(f)     Sinful human beings are redeemed from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of their representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between them and God.

(g)    Those who believe in Christ are pardoned all their sins and accepted in God's sight only because of the righteousness of Christ credited to them; this justification is God's act of undeserved mercy, received solely by trust in him and not by their own efforts.

(h)    The Holy Spirit alone makes the work of Christ effective to individual sinners, enabling them to turn to God from their sin and to trust in Jesus Christ.

(i)      The Holy Spirit lives in all those he has regenerated. He makes them increasingly Christ-like in character and behaviour and gives them power for their witness in the world.

(j)     The one holy universal church is the Body of Christ, to which all true believers belong.

(k)   The Lord Jesus Christ will return in person, to judge everyone, to execute God's just condemnation on those who have not repented and to receive the redeemed to eternal glory.

 

Membership

All activities of the Fellowship of Christian Students is open to non-member students.

 Membership of the Fellowship of Christian Students is open to all students of the Universities in Ternopil who in good conscience are willing to be united in the common profession of faith and witness of the Fellowship of Christian Students. 

 The EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE is the highest decision taking body after God in accordance to the holy scriptures.
