THIRST FOR LIVING WATER

   Thirst is a strong desire for water and is an essential component for/of life. It is inevitable that humans cannot survive without water. The physical, thirst for the ordinary water but the spiritual, thirst for the living water. The living water in consideration is Jesus. In John 6:35, Jesus said ‘I am the bread of life, he that cometh to me shall never hunger and he that beliveth in me shall never thirst’ therefore our thirst can only be quenched by Jesus.

    As water is essential to life so is Jesus to Christianity and as humans can’t survive without water so a Christian can’t survive without Jesus. Water is considered life therefore Jesus is life.

Jesus is crying out loud to those who are thirsty to come and drink of the living water. It is a personal decision that every Christian should make to come for the living water because if you are thirsty and you do not come, you will not be filled. John 7:37 ‘if any man thirst let him come unto me’.

    The living water satisfies totally and goes with an overflow when it is taken in faith. In John 7:38b ‘out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water’ which simply means that you can reach out to others by also making them realize the importance of living water. The living water wets the life of a Christian and causes every dryness to disappear, it makes every difficult ground easy to plough and plant in and every planted seed to germinate and yield healthy fruits.

Consequently, the absence of the living water is the presence of total dryness and lack both spiritually and otherwise. The living water freshens the life of a Christian and sustains it

    God is calling on us today to come and drink of the water, quench our thirst perfectly and lack no more. Remember, in every seed, there is a tree and in every nation, a generation, some souls might just be waiting for you…thirst now…
